BUDS
Currently Looking For A Core Team / Inner-Circle
General Overview
Buds is set to become a one-on-one mentorship program between children (age 6-15) and older student/young adult mentors (age 16-24). The idea would be for mentors and their matched mentees to develop a deep and trusting personal connection, so the child has an older, more experienced, non-parental figure to navigate life with. Unlike other mentorship programs that currently exist, this one targets younger children and is much more broad. Upon researching mentorship programs in HK, most were for older secondary students looking for a “career” or “university” mentor. The BUDS founder, Lauren Ho, a Child Psychology major and someone who has worked with a wide range of children from different backgrounds, has come to learn that children need older figures to guide them with life just as much as older secondary students do.
